Dr. Dennis Stevens operates at the convergence of creativity and innovation, blending his experiences as a visual artist, veteran, entrepreneur, inventor, and writer. He has founded and led initiatives such as Penelope Mimetics LLC, HEGEMONACO, Redefining Craft, and Conway Cultural Development Corporation.
Grounded in narrative therapy and self-authoring practices, Dr. Stevens is creating a new digital platform and non-profit research institute as a therapeutic resource for healing and growth. This initiative will offer interactive tools for exploring personal narratives, guided self-reflection, and creative expression, empowering veterans, first responders, and others to reframe their experiences and rebuild their identities. 
This platform will empower users to transform their lived experiences, including trauma, into a coherent and meaningful life story within a supportive community of practice that fosters resilience and reflective inquiry. Complemented by a series of books, this initiative expands its therapeutic impact, offering practical resources that promote emotional well-being and personal empowerment
Dr. Stevens holds a Doctor of Education in Art and Art Education, the College Teaching of Art, from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master’s in Instructional Technology from San Jose State, and a BFA from Clemson University. Before college, he served as a Gunner’s Mate in the U.S. Coast Guard.
